Multidisciplinary consultation. Sounds structured. The practice:
Invitations via email, sometimes telephone. Participant list in an Excel. Minutes in Word, if there are any. Follow-up: verbally agreed, rarely recorded.
In the Netherlands, 60,000 to 80,000 MDOs take place every year. There is no national system that facilitates these consultations, monitors follow-up, or provides insight into whether agreements are being fulfilled.
That can be done differently. Not with a new meeting system, but with a coordination layer that keeps track of who is involved, what has been agreed, and what the status is.
